Jon Bradfield, who has written a number of acclaimed and sell-out pantomimes, talks about his new play, Animal. Animal follows the story of David, who is gay, disabled and horny. He can’t eat, drink or shower by himself – let alone the rest. Totally inexperienced, he embarks on a romantic odyssey, armed with a fierce brain and impressive nudes. But can David keep it casual whilst also relying on round-the-clock care? Can he manage the thrill and uncertainty of random hook-ups after a lifetime of knock-backs?
Animal won the inaugural Through the Mill Prize and was shortlisted in the top five for the Papatago Prize. It is playing at the Park Theatre between 19th April and 20th May 2023.
